Saratoga Bed & Breakfast
In 1857 an Englishman by the name of James Stuart wrote in his diary, "On the 31st of October we changed our quarters from Saratoga Springs to Ballston Spa, in a pleasant situation in a hollow surrounded on all sides by high grounds...a small river runs through the village, which contains 800 or 1000 people."
By the time Stuart visited the area, Ballston Spa's popularity as a resort center had already been eclipsed by its reputation as a center for manufacturing textiles. Now the village of approximately 5000 is immersed in the past, intent on preserving its homes from the nineteenth century.
One particularly gracious Victorian, circa 1868, has been lovingly restored by its owners into a lodging for overnight visitors. The owners of the Apple Tree Bed and Breakfast welcome visitors with enthusiasm and graciousness into their mansard-style home.
